Meet Your Photographers
We are Bruce & Sarah and we would love to be your wedding photographers. As a husband and wife team, we bring our shared experiences to every story that we tell with our photography. We’re relaxed and down-to-earth and we love to have fun with all of our couples which helps them feel relaxed and be themselves in front of our cameras.
Our love for photography was born out of our love for travel and our desire to capture our adventures so we could look back on them when we grow old. Together we have travelled to Ireland, Spain, Italy, India, Nepal, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, Australia, the United States, and across Canada – all the time with cameras in our hands.
When we’re not travelling or photographing a wedding, we love to go out for dinner with friends or stay home with a nice bottle of wine and enjoy some of our favourite television shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.
Who are Bruce & Sarah?
Bruce’s love for photography began at an early age. Bruce’s father always had a camera or a video camera in his hand to preserve important family moments. Bruce followed in his father’s footsteps and began taking the lead in capturing important family moments. He began to pursue it as a serious passion when he lived in Japan for a few years in the mid-90’s and focused on travel photography. Although he didn’t understand much about f-stops, aperture, depth of field, or ISO settings, everyone kept telling him that he had a good eye for photography and they encouraged him to pursue photography at a professional level.
Bruce began photographing families, events, and a few weddings after returning to Canada. After being hired to photograph an event for Grammy Award winning artist David Foster in 2007, Moments in Digital was officially launched and we’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of fantastic clients since then.
Sarah’s passion for photography began shortly after meeting Bruce and going on their first trip together. While she stuck to photography as a hobby in the beginning, Sarah began to develop a serious interest in photography and eventually started assisting Bruce on shoots and taking classes. With an eye for detail and an ability to calm a nervous bride or make a crying baby start laughing, Sarah brought a new dimension and her own artistic vision to Moments in Digital.
When Sarah is not behind the camera, travelling, or taking care of her family, you’ll likely find her in the kitchen making her awesome chocolate cupcakes or relaxing on the couch enjoying a puzzle or with her nose buried in a good book.
The one word that describes our photography style most accurately is relaxed. We like to be in the moment and capture memories as they happen. As photographers though, we know that every now and then, guidance is needed and these are the moments when we step in and make even the posed photos look as natural as possible.
Our style of working is a mixture of photojournalism blended with contemporary portraiture. Our goal is to make sure that everyone involved in the wedding day has fun and feels relaxed around us. We take the time to learn the names of the most important people involved in the wedding (bridal party, parents, etc) and we listen to what you want us to capture.
