Meet Your Photographers

We are Bruce & Sarah and we would love to be your wedding photographers. As a husband and wife team, we bring our shared experiences to every story that we tell with our photography. We’re relaxed and down-to-earth and we love to have fun with all of our couples which helps them feel relaxed and be themselves in front of our cameras.

Our love for photography was born out of our love for travel and our desire to capture our adventures so we could look back on them when we grow old. Together we have travelled to Ireland, Spain, Italy, India, Nepal, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, Australia, the United States, and across Canada – all the time with cameras in our hands.

When we’re not travelling or photographing a wedding, we love to go out for dinner with friends, go to movies, or stay home with a nice bottle of wine and snuggle up with our dachshund named Neko to enjoy some of our favourite television shows like Game of Thrones, Modern Family, and The Walking Dead.

Bruce’s love for photography began at an early age. Bruce’s father always had a camera or a video camera in his hand to preserve important family moments. Bruce followed in his father’s footsteps and began taking the lead in capturing important family moments. He began to pursue it as a serious passion when he lived in Japan for a few years in the mid-90’s and focused on travel photography. Although he didn’t understand much about f-stops, aperture, depth of field, or ISO settings, everyone kept telling him that he had a good eye for photography and they encouraged him to pursue photography at a professional level.

Bruce began photographing families, events, and a few weddings after returning to Canada. After being hired to photograph an event for Grammy Award winning artist David Foster in 2007, Moments in Digital was officially launched and we’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of fantastic clients since then.

Sarah is an old romantic. She loves to have doors opened for her and flowers sent to her for no reason. She particularly enjoys photographing people in love.

Sarah’s passion for photography began shortly after meeting Bruce and going on their first trip together. While she stuck to photography as a hobby in the beginning, Sarah began to develop a serious interest in photography and eventually started assisting Bruce on shoots and taking classes. With an eye for detail and an ability to calm a nervous bride or make a crying baby start laughing, Sarah brought a new dimension and her own artistic vision to Moments in Digital.

When Sarah is not behind the camera, travelling, or taking care of her family, you’ll likely find her in the kitchen making her awesome chocolate cupcakes or relaxing on the couch enjoying a puzzle or with her nose buried in a good book.

We’ve Photographed Over 100+ Weddings and Counting

Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event and the photographs of your day will be the one thing you’ll have to look

back on once the day is over. Choosing an experienced photographer is an investment in preserving those memories.

Let our experience provide you with the confidence in knowing we’ll be at the right place, at the right time,

to capture the once in a lifetime moments that make up your special day.

Experience Counts.

Wedding photography is one of the most challenging genres of photography. You need to know all of the technical aspects of photography plus you need to have a solid understanding of lighting, composition, posing,  & storytelling.

When digital photography came along, many people thought that all you needed to be a good photographer was a really expensive camera. A good camera makes someone a good photographer the same way a nice oven makes someone a great chef or a nice pen makes someone a NY Times bestselling author. It’s more than that. It takes years of practice and experience to become proficient at photography and when you’re dealing with a once in a lifetime event such as a wedding, do you really want to take chances with your memories?

Client Testimonials

Don’t just take our word for it. Check out a few testimonials from some of the wonderful clients who have relied on us to preserve their memories.

We were beyond thrilled with our wedding photographs. You captured so many amazing moments that I otherwise may have forgotten or missed.

You were so unobtrusive during our ceremony and reception that I actually wondered if you were still there at one point (of course you were!!) You two were so easy to work with that it was actually fun taking the pictures with our wedding party that hot summer day.

You were always extremely professional and responsible dealing with us through the whole process. We never had to worry about you being late, getting lost, etc., and you scouted the perfect location for our first look photos in the park. Thank you so much, we will definitely be referring our friends and family to you.

We were beyond lucky to have Bruce and Sarah as our photographers for our wedding. The moments they captured will be cherished for a lifetime. The beauty, love and real emotion of the day came through in every shot.

When you plan for one day for so long – to have photographers that “get” your vision is so important. From getting together beforehand to discuss ideas, to coming to the rehearsal dinner – Bruce and Sarah care about their work and their clients.

As a former model I (Jacks) had very high expectations of Bruce and Sarah – and they exceeded every one. Thank you both again – so much. xo

When my husband and I were searching for a wedding photographer in the spring of 2011, we were overwhelmed with the many talented photographers in the Edmonton area. We had received two separate recommendations to contact Moments in Digital and met with them to further discuss our plans.

We were immediately struck by Bruce and Sarah’s level of professionalism, creativity, friendliness and senses of humour. We opted to use Moments in Digital to capture our wedding day, and from start to finish were thrilled with the results. Our first year anniversary is quickly approaching, and we regularly look back at our photos and album to remember the day. We loved the uniqueness that Bruce and Sarah brought into our photos and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, creative and genuine photographers.

They continuously exceeded our expectations and were an absolutely fantastic couple to spend our wedding day with.

If you are getting married in the Edmonton area you NEED to hire Moments in Digital Photography! Bruce and Sarah are both extremely professional, true experts of their trade, and incredibly easy to work with. Prior to the wedding they were very open to accommodating what my wife and I had in mind and were in constant communication with us the whole way through to help work out all the details. On the wedding day they went above and beyond to capture all of our special moments and did it all with a smile. Not only is the quality of the photography high-end, Bruce and Sarah clearly take pride in the products they use to display their pictures, and my wife and I can’t wait to receive our album which will be handmade over in Italy! My wife and I highly recommend you give Moments in Digital a call when looking for wedding photographers, you won’t regret it! Thank you so very much Bruce and Sarah!

We just LOVED working with Sarah and Bruce from Moments in Digital Photography. My husband and I are so terrifically happy with the job that Bruce and Sarah did on our wedding. Not only were the pictures amazing, but they captured our low key vibe perfectly. We would recommend them highly for any type of photography! When we get a dog, we’re giving them a call.

Love love love Bruce and Sarah! They went the extra mile prior to our big day, during the day and afterwards as well. Bruce met with me and listened to everything I had in mind. He scoped out awesome photo locations according to what I wanted and followed through. Both Sarah and Bruce attended our rehearsal not because they had to but because they were professionals, wanting to meet everyone and to check out the locations and lighting beforehand.

On the day, they were very laid back….but this is their nature too. I really appreciated the ease of the photo sessions and how much fun we had. Bruce made me feel like a diva and I can honestly say, through these pictures, I never felt more beautiful! The photos were edited and ready promptly and the quality is excellent. Most of my framed pictures in my home are from my wedding. You guys are awesome!!!

“When we first met Bruce and Sarah, we knew right from the start they were the ones we wanted to photograph our wedding.”

They were so down to earth and we all got along great! They were extremely professional and not pushy at all. We were quite impressed with their portfolio and impressed that Sarah was learning so she could help out- and what a great job she did!

Bruce and Sarah attended the rehearsal, which we felt was very personal. They wanted to make sure they knew the area we were getting married at and took the chance to scout out any good photo opportunities that they may have been too busy to see on the wedding day.

The wedding day was perfect. Bruce and Sarah were so patient and made sure they got a picture of everything. The pictures through the ceremony were captured just how we remember it and the family pictures after on the Royal Alberta Museum grounds were beautiful. Brad isn’t the most photogenic person but Bruce and Sarah really caught how Brad felt throughout the whole day- happy!

The offsite site pictures were very modern, exactly how we described to Bruce and Sarah what we were hoping for- they even brought props, pop and Popcorn in our wedding colours! They really went above and beyond for us.

Thank you Bruce and Sarah for making sure we are able to look back at our wedding pictures and relive our beautiful day.

Although I have many favourite pictures with Brad, one of my favuoirte ones is with my dad on the dance floor. Since my dad doesn’t live here I don’t get to see him too often. Bruce and Sarah were able to catch an amazing moment I had with my dad during the Father/Daughter Mother/Son dance.
